March 20-21, 2007 - Brookhaven Si Run On Tuesday, March 20, 2007, the CRaTER team began their second adventure at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in Upton, NY. This time their goal was to test the instrument's response to 296MeV nucleons of silicon, as well as 1GeV protons. After getting command central set up, test runs, to detect noise levels and to stabilize the beam, began shortly before 11am. Runs with the silicon beam, including use of Co60 and Cs137 radioactive sources, began taking place just before 2pm. Day 2 consisted of the same setup of the runs using the proton beam. |
